EL&SYLVARIETYSHOW/LYNX GARCIA

Lynx Garcia, also known as "Supersize Spanishfly", is a single mother of one, and a Latina bbw from corona, queens, New York. An activist, speaking out against size discrimination, Lynx began performing back in 1996 at social events for BBW's and BHM.s (big beautiful women and big handsome males) and began to build a solid reputation for her performances. Her singing, rapping and spoken word performances at various events in the tri state area, soon put her in demand at Big and Beautiful parties nationwide. After several years of performing and showcasing her talents, Lynx decided to take her look and sound main-stream, only to have the doors slammed shut in her face, because of her size. But she did not let this break her spirit, hurt her confidence or minimize her drive. Instead she put all of her energy into starting a public-access TV series that would not only promote her talents, but others as well.

Thus she created Lynx's Lair, airing in Queens on Time Warner's QPTV, channel 56 on Tuesday nights. Lynx's Lair became a showcase for upcoming, as well as prominently known artists from all walks of life. From the pioneer B-boys and girls of Hip-Hop like, Kool Herc, Grand Master Caz, DJ Disco Wiz, and The Beat-nuts, to spoken word artists such as Joell Ortiz, Alvare (winner of the UMA Best Latin Hip-Hop Artist Award), Sano-In (of the Latin Hip-Hop connect), La Bruja, and Beanolgy, Lynx has had them all in her Lair and has created a series that gives a voice and a platform to the artists and performers who can't get the mainstream exposure afforded to artists signed to the major corporations. The response to her show was phenomenal. In less than a year she had showcased so many artists (some who have moved on to bigger and better things) that she herself became a popular figure on the New York City entertainment scene. In fact, Lynx can't walk down the street without people running up to her to give her compliments on the program, as well as their CD's and demos. She receives hundreds of e-mails monthly from artists and fans alike as her two myspace pages are in heavy demand and her BBW community supports her every move.

Recently, Lynx caught the attention of Joey Mekkah of Black Solaris Entertainment and soon found herself on Grand Master Mele Mel's new solo album "Muscles; featured on the hot Latin hip-hop track; "Dimelo". She is the only collaboration on the album with the legend, and describes the experience by stating; "even though Mel comes across extremely hard on stage, in reality he is the most humble person that I've ever met. To me, it's was an honor just to work with a living legend, but then to be able to actually call him a friend as well is a blessing on yet another level."

                                                                                .

Lynx was also featured in a profile on Telemundo' TV/channel 47's morning show in a very dramatic and moving piece revolving around her weight issues and trying to excel in the entertainment business. Lyles, entered the music scene with instruments blasting coupled with profane lyrics and a confidence that still endures. He continues to bring his unique and soulful sound to his fans and they keep coming back for more.

Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and christened Thomas Anthony, T. Lyles grew up the youngest of seven siblings and a supportive and inspirational mother. Lyles discovered his love of music after receiving a drum set, a gift from his mother, who tired of him banging on everything in her house. And with this gift, the seed of music was planted. Self taught to play drums, guitar and keyboards Lyles vowed to put in the work, learn the lessons and share this love with the whole world. Lyles explains, 'I do not use my music as a means to get things, or buy things. My music is personal to me yet, important to share with the world'.

In high school it looked as if the 6'7' teen would be a star basketball player, and for a while he was. But even while playing ball, his love of music never left him. His basketball coach once commented that 'if he did not want to go pro it would be because of his love of music'. Attending both Panola Jr. College and Kentucky University on basketball scholarships Lyles graduated from Panola Jr. College with a degree in Psychology and Sociology and left Kentucky University to play in the NBA and CBA.

Lyles finally yielded to his first love, writing and producing songs. Greatly influenced by the sound of the Midwest (early 90's), Prince and Lenny Kravits, Lyles' music is fused with rock, funk, R&B and jazz. As a songwriter he writes from his own experiences, life's challenges and the moments and people that have touched him. In 1996, Lyles released his independent R&B debut CD 'Songs from the Heart' in Canada and the singles 'Beautiful U' and 'I'll do Any Thing' met with critical success and Lyles gained his first fan base.

His sophomore album '4 the Sex of It' in 1998 was released while producing the CD 'I Am Man' for Canadian country artist, Motesy. The song 'Must I Die' was a Canadian Billboard top ten hit. Lyles also produced and played for Canadian pop artist Karrie Krosley's 'Believe' Project. A Canadian tour shortly followed and several nominations for a Canadian JUNO Award. Canada also honored Mr. Lyles with the title of Master of Funk, R&B and Soul given by the Black American Bules Historical Society in 2004.

In 1999, Lyles returned to Indianapolis and formed the R&B group, The Look. In 2001, he went back into the studio and produced 'Proud 2B American and N-Tyme. All proceeds from cd sales were given to the 911 Rescue and Recovery Fund. Voted the Indianapolis Star's Artist of the Month in 2005, his next project 'Trapped' featuring Love/Baby, The Pain and N-Vasion and the single, "Love" was favorably met by the music industry and record pools across the country.

                                T. Lyles has yielded to his love of music and not being able to ground himself to one sound, T. Lyles has fused all genres of music to introduce Urban Rock. So please allow me to introduce to you, Mr. T. Lyles.
